So. Much. Going. On.
Everyday we wake up with anticipation. Is this the day we receive the phone call from our adoption agency to learn who our son is and when we can go to Uganda to pick him up? Initially, we were told it would be 4 months. More months were added to the wait and we were told to expect that phone call sometime around Christmas. Nothing.
How about January? Nope.
Mid-way through February we receive word from our adoption agency to add six months to everything they told us previously. So that puts us out until this summer. You can read my wife's perspective on her blog here. God's timing is perfect we remind ourselves, but at least we have a steady target again. It also freed up my schedule to add a trip overseas.
This is the second year out of the past eight that I have not spent part of my February in India. So I called Sam Apollos and he invited me to visit India in April. The tickets have been purchased and the meetings are being arranged around a heavy travel schedule around western and southern India. One of the highlights will be a forum with 80-100 former New Covenant Bible students who are scattered throughout India coming together to brainstorm how to help India become more successful with the Gospel. My heart is so heavy for India right now and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us.
A couple nights ago we have a family movie night and rent the movie Courageous. What a powerful movie! Two days later I am still convicted with the question is I am being a father of character. I highly recommend this movie.
My long-time friend, Todd, calls me awhile back and said he is coming to Portland for the Justice Conference and he wants to take me with him. So still reeling from the conviction of the Courageous. I find myself preparing for an intense weekend to face restoring social injustices.
"The Justice Conference 2012 is the second annual international gathering of advocates, activists, artists, professors, professionals, prophets, pastors, students and stay-at-home moms working to restore the fabric of justice."
And as if this isn't enough, the preprations for the 3rd annual Berean Way auction titled, "Experiencing the Adventure" are well underway. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, May 19th from 6-9 pm at the Langdon Farm Red Shed. It will be our biggest and most adventurous event ever!!! More details will be coming shortly, but we are actively seeking auction items. Please contact me if you would like to participate.
For those of you who love to spend time with God, I would cherish your prayer right now. Please pray for wisdom and influence as we continue to seek God's direction in 2012.
